Legacy

Her brother may not be here now 

Yet she knows he lives on because 

he has become the flame that reignites 

the fire within her heart and soul 

whenever the embers of 

her passion start dying 

She is just now beginning to understand 

what he meant when he told her 

if she wanted her dreams to come true 

she would have to fight for them 

He also told her not to give up 

even if the odds were stacked against her 

Her dreams may not be the same ones 

she had when he was here 

but she’s been fighting for her new dreams 

with the same passion he had 

She believes if she continues to 

spread the messages 

As well as teach the lessons 

he once taught her 

his legacy will live on 

in the hearts and minds of 

all those who become inspired 

by the wisdom he left behind
